As a full-stack and platform engineer with 8+ years of experience, I’ve learned that the hardest part of delivering value isn’t just writing the code—it’s choosing the right direction and owning it end to end. Over the last three years especially, my impact has come from finding the highest-leverage path through an ambiguous problem and seeing it through: planning, triage, and execution. That’s only become more true as execution gets cheaper and judgment about what to build becomes the scarce skill.
My resume shows that I would bring important skills to a potential role, including:
- When our ~300GB production TimescaleDB cluster had to move from PostgreSQL 11 to 18, a conventional dump-and-reload meant days of downtime. I chose an in-place, multi-hop upgrade on our GKE / Kubernetes cluster and rehearsed it against a live snapshot of production first—cutting downtime to minutes and de-risking a change no one wanted to get wrong.
- At the Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute, I set technical direction others depend on: the Terraform/Pulumi infrastructure-as-code and the GCP monitoring and alerting architecture the platform runs on, team-wide contract-testing and dependency-management practices, and serving as the primary contact for Deakin’s GCP Subject Matter Expert on security. I’ve also budgeted infrastructure for 5+ research grant applications.
- Most recently I sole-engineered a clinical survey platform with integrated GenAI workflows, delivering in 6 weeks for an overseas conference—translating an 1800+ question psychological assessment into a modern Next.js/TypeScript stack while acting as primary client liaison. I made the architecture calls (Azure infrastructure-as-code, a resilient async pipeline) and shipped them.
- I stay deliberately hands-on: I read across APIs, source, and RFCs to make grounded calls, and I’ve personally driven framework migrations, ML infrastructure, and CI/CD and cost optimizations rather than delegating the hard parts.
I’m a strong fit for teams because I believe cohesive communication drives outcomes. I push for centralized knowledge bases that reduce friction and let a team move independently.
